Issue Nº 02 · How we work

Five steps. One human. Fourteen days.

No agency theatre. No twelve-meeting kickoff. Just a clear path from "I need a website" to a finished site you own — and a money-back promise if the first draft doesn't land on Day 7.

The 5 steps

What happens, when, and what I need from you.

Most "agency processes" are deliberately fuzzy so you can't tell if you're getting value. Mine is the opposite: every step has a clear input, a clear output, and a clear time cost.

PhaseDiscovery

15-minute discovery call

Tell me about your business — what you sell, who buys, what's broken about your current site (or what you haven't built yet). I'll tell you honestly if I'm the right fit. If I'm not, I'll point you at someone who is.

PhaseProposal

Proposal & deposit

You get a one-page proposal with three options and a clear, fixed price. No "depending on scope." Pick one, sign by e-signature, pay the 50% deposit. Done.

PhaseBuild

I build the first draft

One quick questionnaire from you (15 min). Then I go quiet for a week and build. First draft lands in your inbox by Day 7 — or the deposit is refunded, no questions.

PhasePolish

Two rounds of revisions

You send feedback in writing or on a Loom video — whatever's faster. I turn each round around in 24 hours. Most clients use just one; a second is included if you want it.

Site goes live

Final 50% payment. I hand over the domain, the source files, and all hosting access. You own everything — no platform lock-in, no monthly hostage fee. Optional Care plan if you want me on call.

Total~1 hour of you

About one hour of your time. That's it.

Add it all up: 15 min discovery + 10 min signing + 15 min questionnaire + ~20 min per revision round. Most clients spend less than an hour on the whole thing — and end up with a site that runs for years.

The Day-7 promise. If your first draft isn't in your inbox by Day 7, the deposit comes back — no tickets, no escalation, no awkward emails. I've never had to refund one, and I don't plan to start.

What you DON'T have to do

The "this will eat my month" worry — addressed.

Most business owners assume "getting a website" means weeks of meetings, drafts, and learning new software. With me, it doesn't.

Write copy from scratch

I write the first draft.

You answer a 15-minute questionnaire. I turn your answers into proper website copy. You edit a few sentences if you want — done.

Hunt down photos

I source images for you.

Use what you've got. I fill the gaps with stock photography you'd never spot was stock — or recommend a local photographer for a one-morning shoot.

Learn WordPress

You never log into a CMS.

Want to change something post-launch? Email me. With the Care plan it's same-day. Without, it's a small per-edit fee. No page builders.

Sit through 12 meetings

One 15-min call. That's it.

Discovery call, then async until launch. No "weekly check-ins." No "stakeholder review." Just a draft on Day 7 and a live site on Day 14.

The 14 days at a glance

A timeline you can show your accountant.

Fixed days. Fixed checkpoints. No "we'll be in touch."

Process FAQ

Got questions about working together?

What if I miss the questionnaire deadline?

The 14-day clock starts when you return the questionnaire, not when you sign. So if you need a week to think, that's fine — the timeline shifts with you. I just need a clear "go" signal to start the build.

What if I want more than two rounds of revisions?

Honestly? Almost nobody does. Most clients use one round and we ship. If you do want a third, it's a small extra fee (most are 30–60 min of work). I'd rather charge for it than rush something you're not happy with.

Can we go faster than 14 days?

For most projects, yes — I've shipped sites in 7 days flat when the client moves quickly on revisions. There's no rush fee. The 14-day window is the outside limit, not the target.

What happens if I disappear for a week mid-project?

Life happens. The clock pauses when I'm waiting on you. I'll send one nudge at the 5-day mark. After 30 days of total silence I pause the project; you can restart anytime within a year at no extra cost.

Who actually does the work? Is it outsourced?

It's me — Ben — designing and building every site personally. No offshoring, no junior handoffs, no "account managers." That's why I cap intake at 3 projects a month. You get one designer, start to finish.

Ready when you are

Ready to start the 14-day clock?

Tell me about your project. I'll come back within a day with a proposal — and an honest answer about whether I'm the right fit.
